Basement Wall Outside Pre School Room
A crack in the wall has let water in.
After the crack filler and waterproofing was put on, ABT then mounted a protective barrier. Then it was back filled with stone. This should give us a long term fix for this water leak.
This leak in the basement wall is believed to be in the joint of the cloister and the secularly.
So ABT can water proof the outside wall, we had to have the cast iron drain pipe removed. This will give ABT room to work and fill all the cracks. The crack is at the point the cloister and the sanctuary connect. They had been built at different times and one or both of the wall settled differently. This should stop the water leak in the basement.

ABT dug out all the way down to the drain tile. They sealed the crack and seems. (not shown) they put a waterproof covering over the patch.
Workers from ABT started the work of digging out the wall to waterproof the basement.
Like in everything, you find problems as you try to fix things. In this case, the crack is behind the cast iron drain pipe. It has to be moved.

Now that the gravel is placed back in, we can let it settle for a couple of month. The we will have new concrete added. Done until spring!!
